    Intended purpose

  1. The purpose of the Eye Knowledge Network (EKN) Forum is to provide eyecare professionals with a tool to share and discuss clinically relevant information in the form of data, images, and other multimedia contents such as podcasts and videos. The forum works through the well known mechanism of “threaded discussions”. Any materials uploaded onto the forum are herein referred as “contents”.

  2. The EKN forum is aimed at eyecare professionals only. A false identity declaration is the sole responsibility of the subscriber and, if proved, it may result in the immediate shutdown of the user account.
  3. Uploading any personal data that do not pertain to you, such as, but not limited to, name and family name, date of birth, health insurance codes, any unique code that can lead to a person identification is NOT allowed, i.e. uploaded data must always be ANONYMOUS, with the exception of the data in your personal profile.
  4. Uploading obscene, or coarse, or offensive contents in any format including text, images, videos, audio, is strictly forbidden.
  5. Uploading materials that you do not own is a copyright violation and against the law.
  6. Use of the EKN forum for purposes different than those stated in the Intended purpose section of this agreement is forbidden.
  7. Should you become aware of uploaded contents that violate articles 3, 4, 5 or 6 above, you are requested to report the abuse to the system administrator through the “Flag as inappropriate” command.
  8. You maintain full intellectual property of the contents you post, save for what stated at art. 5 above. To this purpose the WEB site allows to securely determine and document who posted a certain content first.
  9. If you upload contents that violate articles 3, 4, 5 or 6 above, your account will be immediately deleted and contents removed.
  10. The EKN is not responsible of the exactness and accuracy of uploaded contents and is therefore not responsible of the use made of such contents, including any clinical conclusion that may be drawn out of them.
  11. The EKN forum may contain links to third party websites that are not owned or controlled by the EKN.
